Rock Climbing in Austin

I found a few rock climbing groups online, and met up with two climbers in Austin. In order to meet up at 9am, I left my house about 6am...

The drive was BEAUTIFUL.

It has been in the mid-80's for the last few weeks, but when I walked out to my car... yes Baby Truck... it was 38. YIKES!

The cows were out...

The sun was rising...

And the bluebonnets were out. If you don't know about the Texas Bluebonnet, it means that Spring has arrived in Texas and Summer is on it's way. It's pretty incredible to see - they're beautiful.

I got this off the internet (as I was not one of the 1,000's of cars that stopped to take pictures of their family members sitting in them) but it looks just like this!!

I met up with my group and we headed to Reimers Ranch. It was beautiful, unlike any hiking/craging I've ever done. LOTS of limestone (below I have my picture in one of the overhangs). But this: is where we climbed!

We got there about 1030am, and it was perfect weather, about 65 - 70 and shady... until about 2pm then the sun came over the top of the rock.

We even made some new friends - who happened to have commuted out for the day from Houston as well. Nice to know I'm not the only one!

This is Vicky -

And this is Emily (mom) and Indigo (small person). It was pretty impressive that Emily carried Indigo on the trail and thru the pretty narly trail obsticles.
Both ladies were great to spend a day with!

The last treat of the day was when I got back to Baby Truck there was this red truck parked next to it. Can anyone tell why I was excited??

Yes!! The Washington plates!!! Yeeaaaahhhhhhhh
