LA / San Diego 12/26 - 12/29

I went on my first away trip for my new job... and I started on my birthday!

I got to go to LA for the week... and it was fantastic :)

I had a late flight, but was happy to get to my hotel in the evening.

The great part about going to LA was that I got to drive down to San Diego and visit Carina Liljengren! I'd never been to Southern California before, and it was a great adventure to be able to drive around.
I left Pasadena at about 130pm, drove East on HWY 210, South on 15, West on 78, South on 5, and ended off of 805 where Carina works. I didn't arrive at Carina's until 530pm - 4 hours to go 100 miles. WOW - the traffic.

I took a few videos on my way down to see Carina... totally worth it to take a look and giggle a little!

There was a sign in the employee lounge... guess you shouldn't mess with Robert...

After work, we headed to downtown San Diego, to the Gas Lamp district. It was beautiful! Memories of New Orleans with my dad came flooding back...

You'll see another post shortly... my camera died during dinner and I wasn't able to document the trip to the OCEAN! Good thing Carina brought her camera too, because I got to put my feet in the ocean - it was FANTASTIC! What a birthday present!

Happy New Year!

I get home from work - and what do I find?

Seattle Marathon 2006

The Seattle Marathon was held on November 26th and we had lots of close friends running!

At 645am on Sunday morning I had a FUN group of 7 greet me at my door, waiting to get warm (it was snowing outside) and wanting to prepare for their 13.1 mile half-marathon.

This was the before pic with - Peter, Johan, Kristina, Josh, Tesha, Josh, and Issac.

It was SO GREAT to have the Liljengren's around for the holiday! Carina made a surprise visit from San Diego for Thanksgiving, and was there to root everyone on as well.

Here is Josh ready to cross the finish line - yeeeaaahhhh!
